It was an honor to meet Dr. Henry A. Moses at Fisk’s 139th annual commencement on May 6, 2013. Dr. Moses was bestowed with the Fisk University Honorary Doctor of Science Degree before surprising everyone there.
After making a few remarks, Dr. Moses’ pulled out an envelope with a gift of $100,000 to Fisk University. The experience was moving for everyone present. Many were moved to tears.
The thunderous standing ovation from the audience and pulpit couldn’t be quenched in a simple moment or two. Even after Dr. Moses took his seat, we just couldn’t sit down.

Fisk distinguished professor of biochemistry Dr. Henry Moses contributed $100,000 today to Fisk in the form of an endowed scholarship in honor of his father and Fisk alumnus, The Rev. Andrew McLean Spaulding (’34).
