YES WE CAN!
Here’s an example where one state (AZ) penalizes 2 women for related crimes. One received jail time and had her children taken away. The other received probation.
WE MUST PRESS COLLECTIVELY AND CONSISTENTLY ON OUR RESPECTIVE STATE AND FEDERAL LAW MAKERS AND ADMINISTRATORS TO CREATE AND CHANGE LAWS TO BALANCE THE SCALES.
We must also VOTE STATE AND LOCAL JUDGES OFF THE BENCHES that have track records for disparity and in turn, VOTE JUDGES INTO OFFICES that commit to fairness.

The story involved a 35-year old African-American homeless woman, Shanesha Taylor, who was sentenced to prison in AZ for leaving her two children in the car while attending a job interview. In contrast, the story also highlighted the lesser sentence of probation which was ruled in the SAME STATE to Catalina Clouser, a White 19-year old mother who got high on drugs, put her 2-month old infant on top of her car, then drove the car until the baby literally fell off the hood.
